Joseph P. Byrne is the owner of SERVPRO of Newington / Central Hartford, a leading restoration company serving Newington, Hartford, and surrounding areas in Connecticut. Byrne began his long history with the restoration process after graduating from University of Rhode Island. He spent close to a decade as a field adjuster for CNA Insurance, prior to moving to the restoration industry. This has allowed Byrne the unique insight and ability to approach claims in a harmonious manner that supports the insured/client and carrier.
In 1999 Byrne joined SERVPRO New Haven as a partner, working hands on as a field manager and marketing representative. He continued to hone his skills as a restoration specialist through field work and education. During his tenure in New Haven, Byrne created a TEAM that became a top earning franchise, while never sacrificing the integrity of the claims process.
In 2010 Byrne opened SERVPRO of Newington / Central Hartford. He has continued his legacy of trusted name in the restoration industry, building another ELITE TEAM of professionals, all with their own unique talents to support successful project management. Greg Alfano has over two decades of restoration and construction experience. He specializes in commercial and large loss management and specialty restoration. Greg’s beginnings were humble, starting as a water technician in his early 20’s, during this time he built his foundation for management and continued to grow within the industry. Alfano has a legacy of scoping, planning, and executing difficult/challenging restoration projects. Greg focuses on building partnerships with clients, carriers, and municipalities that result in best case outcomes.
Alfano’s talents for mitigation stem from his aquaculture background rooted in New Haven County and Sound School. At Sound he focused on aqua technologies & aqua biology, boat & marina restoration, maritime fabrication/customizations, and engine mechanics. He has since used those foundations to build upon his expert knowledge throughout restoration projects.
Greg maintains IICRC Certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, Health & Safety,) Microbial IOT Training, Servpro Commercial Project Management while envisioning and creating innovative ways to advance mitigation and restoration processes. He regularly works on site with his TEAM to train, explore, learn, and execute. He maintains a pulse and personal connection to all projects and strives to leave a project better than he found it.

William Berwick is a highly experienced construction professional with over 30 years of hands-on contracting expertise and 5 years in dedicated project management roles. Known for his deep industry knowledge, reliability, and strong leadership, William has built a career grounded in craftsmanship, accountability, and results-driven execution.
William spent decades mastering the technical and operational aspects of construction, gaining an in-depth understanding of fieldwork, materials, scheduling, and site logistics. Over the last 5 years, he has successfully transitioned into project management, where he applies his field expertise to planning, coordination, and oversight, ensuring that every project meets quality standards, stays on budget, and adheres to deadlines.

His career began in property claims adjusting, where he developed a strong foundation in damage assessment, policy interpretation, and negotiation with carriers. Over two decades, he has handled a wide range of residential and commercial losses, earning a reputation for fairness, accuracy, and client advocacy.
Expanding into mitigation and project management, Richard has led teams through emergency response, structural drying, mold remediation, and full-scale rebuilds. His ability to coordinate field crews, manage timelines, and maintain clear communication with clients and insurance partners makes him a trusted point of contact throughout the restoration process.
